Singapore, November 24, 2015: NXT Digital has chosen Benchmark Broadcast Systems as the System Integrator for the integration and commissioning of the End-to-End Monitoring System for their recently launched HITS service
The system installed and commissioned by Benchmark includes:
The system has been designed with ease of use and 24X7 operations as the primary considerations while meeting the capacity required for the monitoring. Appropriate redundancy has been built-in to the design to ensure high availability.
The splitters, analysers and multiviewers used in the facility are seamlessly linked through network switches and use a Network Management System as the backbone of the solution. This enables constant checking of all parameters and any deviations are immediately brought to the attention of the operators through visual, audio and email alerts. There is also a talkback intercom system linking the major operational areas of the facility enabling rapid communication across various functional departments.
The Penalty Box solution gives a complete visual capability for operators to see signals that are having issues like video missing, audio missing, video freeze, silent, or black. This helps them to drill down to the source of the problem and fix the root cause quickly.
All the audio monitoring solutions in the implementation are capable of monitoring mono, stereo, or Dolby 5.1 audio across the facility. These units also support multiple audio channels in the same embedded signal and can listen to them as separate audio channels as well.
NXTDIGITAL, promoted by the Hinduja Group, is the 2nd HITS (Head-in-the-sky) service in India. The service will supply MSOs and LCOs with over 300 cable channels, and help drive the conversion of India’s cable industry from analog to digital mode, bringing in better quality, reliability and a host of services in the future.
Singapore, September 25, 2015: Universal Basketball Alliance (UBA), a next-generation sports branding company based out of Pune, India had awarded the full TV Production Engineering from Concept to Commissioning, to Benchmark Broadcast Systems, in order to launch the first Professional Basketball season in India.
The groundwork needed before the game day was really the most important part of this Season. Deciding on and installing cameras at specific locations in the stadium is quite a complex task as the cameras had to be unobtrusive to the players and yet be able to catch all the live action as close as possible. There were 6 cameras placed in the stadium, installed, tested and ready to go for operations before the match started. In addition to the cameras, several other equipment (including video switchers, instant replay, Audio Mixers, Video routers, graphics and microphones) needed to be integrated and trials run to make sure they were working as desired.
There is nothing quite like curling up on the couch on a nice weekend afternoon and enjoying a little sports on the television. The next best thing is to work in live sports production, especially if you’ve ever wanted to be close to the action. Just like Santa Claus has to work on Christmas, the Benchmark team spent their weekend hard at work ensuring that the UBA team was able to record live from the start.
The whole production needed to be synchronized with the action on the field, the live commentary and action replay. Time was of a critical nature in the installation. The Benchmark team rose to the occasion and working with the UBA team of Steven Graham and Rob Libop, made sure that the installation was completed on-time so that the matches could be recorded from the word “Roll”. The matches are being telecast at Ten Sports, Ten HD and Ten Action.
Ms.Sunday Zeller, Founder and Co-CEO of EFLI says: “Special thanks to the outstanding production team at Benchmark for their support and effort to create an outstanding product to be viewed in every home throughout India. Thanks, especially, for embracing the conceptual foundation of the league by seamlessly working with team USA as one united”.
