We have no factories, no production lines and no inventories of products. What we have are people. Meet some of them…
Ashish is a veteran of the Broadcast industry, has the credit of introducing Non-Linear systems, building the first and largest video SAN in 2000 and introducing a complete file based digital workflow in this region. Ashish was one of the founding members of Benchmark Broadcast Systems in 1988. Prior to founding Benchmark, Ashish worked in sales and marketing for a number of major IT companies in India, including ORG Systems and Wipro Information Technology Ltd.
Ramesh, or SRB as he is popularly called, has over two decades of systems integration experience. Way back in 2002, as a young engineer in Benchmark, he was the leader of the team that designed, set up and installed the first fibre optic link in a television studio in India. Primarily a systems architect, SRB, along with Ashish,, shares the kudos for designing and integrating the first central video SAN and fully digital news workflow channel in Asia. This was in 2000 and the facility became the role model for the future. The channel also won the Best News Channel of the Year award, in India, for more than six years in a row and expanded to four more channels from the same facility.
SRB shares in the pride of setting up some of the first Virtual Studio setups done in Asia. Additionally, he was the Technology Lead for delivering the proof-of-concept to market IPTV delivery platforms with pioneering installation at BSNL. He has been successful in developing the Systems Integration team in the Middle-East that has delivered HD projects and MAM workflows to customers in that region.
Praveer is a senior media, entertainment and broadcasting professional, a business leader and strategist in electronic media. Over the last 26 years, he has enriched himself with dynamic and extensive experience in building brands and businesses, having worked with a number of start-ups and turnaround businesses in television broadcasting. He has worked in Senior Management positions with NEWSX, Mahuaa TV, Voice of India, Zee Network, Trend TV (DTH and MMDS - Africa), India TV, ESPN, Star Sports and Star TV Network.
He is known by his professional friends as a “Media Evangelist” because of his strong acumen for technology, business development, distribution, research, joint venture management, new product innovation and launches.
He is a member of several broadcast industry associations that help strategize and drive policies, setting the agenda for the media and entertainment industry.
At Benchmark, Praveer will be focusing on revenues, operations, and expansion into new services/product lines of the Company.
Eswaran has over 20 years of experience in engineering projects. Primarily from a background of electronics and communication, Eswaran has been working in the Broadcast and Media Industry for the last eight years managing broadcast projects in South Asia and South East Asia. Focused on customer and quality of service delivery, Eswaran manages the projects and workflow configurations as well as being responsible for delivery of designed systems to customer satisfaction. Some of his earlier evidences of success include the delivery of simulation modules for the defence industry in India, including Electronic Warfare Simulators for the Indian Navy with video management; jet fighter take off and landing simulator environments for the Indian Air Force; and large scale plant automation in the process control Industry.
Rahul Kulshreshtha, Principal Architect at Benchmark Broadcast Systems, is a versatile and creative senior broadcast professional with about 30 years of extensive experience in the technology and operations of broadcast companies.
Before joining Benchmark, he was Senior VP – Technology & Operations at TV Today Networks, a part of the India Today group, a leading news house based in the Greater Delhi region of India.
In addition to spearheading Operations and Technology at TV Today, Rahul has also worked for Television18 and other broadcasters in senior executive positions. Rahul has, in his long career, also produced national and international award winning documentaries and films and commercials for corporates
Matt is a veteran broadcast professional with more than 28 years of experience in a variety of operational roles, covering a wide range of technologies from satellite systems to microwave and cable networks.
Before joining Benchmark, he was Sales Director/Solutions Architect for International Datacasting, a global leader in digital content distribution for the world’s premier broadcasters.
Matt has in-depth experience in a number of roles including Systems Integration, Project Management, Solutions Architecture and General Management. His multi-faceted experience, garnered by having worked on both sides of the table, has endowed him with a unique perspective of the media and telecommunications industries.
Sathya has hands-on experience in complete system design, integration, implementation and installation. He has a thorough understanding and a strong grasp of the latest, relevant technologies. Moreover, he has the ability to provide leadership to a team and focus the individual’s attention on their own particular strengths and capabilities. He was one of the first to introduce and implement the Place Holder concept in NLE automation in the region.
Prasenjit, who had earlier worked with Benchmark for over 6 years, rejoined the team in August 2017 as Principal Consultant.
With over 20-years of experience in media and entertainment software and hardware sales, he has extensive knowledge of file-based workflows for colour grading , high-end VFX and restoration.
Over the course of his career, Prasenjit has driven significant revenue growth in key accounts across India and South Asia .
He is fluently trilingual in English, Hindi and Bengali.
Kris Raghavan, who had earlier worked with Benchmark for over 15 years, rejoined the team in late 2014 after a break of about 9 years. He is a seasoned Sales and Marketing Professional with over 20 years of experience in South East Asia and the Far East. An MBA from Rutgers University, Kris has been involved in the Sales and Marketing of several key technology products including Image Processing, Electronic Design Automation and Automated Inspection Systems for advanced manufacturing. Focused on value delivery to customers, Kris is managing the sales operations of Benchmark for South Asia as well as handling the Product Management of internal product development at Benchmark.
Kris’s personal passion is cycling and you can see him riding in Singapore early morning on most weekends when he is at home. He averages around 200 km per week and also mentors beginner cyclists.
P D Harikrishnan, otherwise called ‘HK’ by the Benchmark team has thirty five years of experience in various fields such as finance, accounts, audit, taxation, stores and general administration. He has been with Benchmark for over twenty years as a financial controller and helped us to run smoothly. (Although, some of our creditors may well dispute this point!) Though not an ‘HR’ person, in his interaction with both management and staff, he has often played a crucial role in pacifying the ‘Turks’ on both sides of the table and helped resolve issues both to the Company’s and employee’s benefit. His forthrightness in pointing out problems and issues with an unbiased bend, as well as his strong costing knowledge, has helped Benchmark to no small degree.
Veena Manoharan, Finance Controller at Benchmark Broadcast - Singapore, has an ACCA UK and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Singapore. Veena worked with Benchmark for 8 years from 2005 to 2013 and is back with us from September 2016. She has over 15 years of experience in finance, accounts, audit and taxation. Veena plays a critical role in managing the finances of Benchmark Broadcast Systems and is a tight fisted Finance Controller.
Jeremiah is one of Benchmark Broadcast's important team members. A recognized technology leader known for his integrity and hard work, Jeremiah joined us in 2006. A graduate in Sciences from Andha University, before joining us he worked at leading News Channels as a member of the initial team – right from the project formation years. His earlier experience comes from working as an IT developer on Middle-ware and Open Systems.
At Benchmark Broadcast Systems, his most significant contribution has been his mode in approach to work and meeting deadlines. To date, apart from various projects in India, he has been deeply involved with projects in Bangladesh, Malaysia and the Middle East. Driven with a never say die approach to work, Jeremiah rose from the ranks and has helped in building and nurturing a team of systems integration engineers.
Ramu, as he is known to his friends and colleagues, has been with Benchmark Broadcast since April 2006, except for a brief period in between.
Ramu joined as a Broadcast Engineer Trainee in 2006, and has risen to be a Regional Manager through sheer will, and hard and smart work. Like many other Benchmarkers, he has been out for a brief period, working elsewhere. He quickly found himself back in the old team.
He works on pre-sales, bid management, system design/solution and leads a team of broadcast engineers. With engineering background specializing in Electronics and communication, he also holds a PGDIM with specialization in Marketing Management.
Ramu is fully conversant with the entire gamut of Broadcast from start to finish and has implemented several complicated projects.
A graduate in Electronics and Communication from Mepco Schlenk Engineering College and a qualified PRINCE2 practitioner, Venky has been with us since 2006. He was with Airtel for about two years in between and chose to return to Benchmark.
At Benchmark Broadcast, Venky manages projects and teams. He is also involved with design and architecture of the solutions provided by Benchmark and works closely with the Sales team for pre-sales as well as solution design. Venky’s interests cover the full range of broadcast media and digital cinema. He is a valuable team player and works with several groups inside Benchmark.
Nalla has been with Benchmark since 2006. One of the long haul players with more than ten years in Benchmark Broadcast, he is an integral part of the pre-sales design of workflow, architecture and high-level project architecture.
He completed his BE in 2006 and joined Benchmark as a Broadcast Engineer Trainee. He has handled customer support, installation, commissioning, and customer training in several projects in South Asia and South East Asia. He has also managed multiple projects closely working with the pre-sales team in road shows, and POCs. His professional interests include the design of complex workflows/content management using various MAM/Automation systems and Production Storage deployment. He is also a keen reader and a cricket fan.
Hannah John is the Finance Manager of Benchmark. She joined Benchmark in 2010. She has extensive experience in finance, cash management, audit and taxation. She is an ACCA graduate, and is also a member of ISCA and ACCA.
In addition to taking care of the financial accounting processes at Benchmark, Hannah is also responsible for compliance with statuory requirements and manages strategic functions such as Receivables, Payables, Payroll and Inventory.
Hannah enjoys singing and performing music for live audiences and recordings. She has released a few music albums and loves to play musical instruments such as keyboard and guitar.
Ganesh is the Senior Accountant at Benchmark, India. He joined Benchmark in 2007. He holds CMA, CS Inter and also has an undergraduate degree in Commerce.
Ganesh takes care of all the accounting functions at Benchmark India including Receivables, Payables, Payroll and Inventory. He also handles taxation and legal compliance.
Ganesh's hobbies include reading books, solving Sudoku puzzles and watching movies
Vidhyavati Manian, otherwise called ‘Vidhya’ by the Benchmark team, is the Procurement and Logistics Manager of Benchmark and has been with Benchmark since 2010. She has a Masters Degree in Commerce and Accountancy, and extensive experience in logistics, vendor management, tender process, inventory control and purchase planning
In addition to taking care of the Procurement and Logistics at Benchmark, Vidhya also takes care of commercial proposals, order receiving and processing, Letter of Credit management, Bank documentation, RMA and Annual Maintenance Contracts.
Vidhya likes reading, cooking, badminton and walking. She also enjoys traveling to locations blessed with natural scenery.
