Benchmark Broadcast marks a successful first quarter of the new decade with five prestigious contracts spanning diverse cultural, commercial, and physical terrains. The five milestone projects in Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Nepal and Papua New Guinea respectively underscore Benchmark Broadcast’s evolving expertise in integrating, commissioning, and maintaining broadcast systems with tailor-made solutions that cater to diverse client requirements within and across countries.
In Bangladesh Benchmark Broadcast partnered with Croatia-based IPTV and OTT solutions company UniqCast to launch MiME, Bangladesh’s first IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) service operated by DigiCon Telecommunication Ltd. For the first time in Bangladesh viewers will be able to access linear, catch-up, and on-demand viewing on IPTV.
In India Benchmark Broadcast became the technology partner for the Indian Hindi News channel ABP News, owned by Anand Bazaar Patrika (ABP) Group, to handle their facility migration. This contract was awarded to Benchmark Broadcast based on a track record of previous successfully delivered major projects as a testimony to continuing client satisfaction.
In Malaysia, Benchmark Broadcast Systems signed a landmark contract with MYTV Broadcasting, SE Asia’s largest Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) service provider. The five-year contract will see Benchmark managing MYTV’s headend site for their Digital Multimedia Broadcasting Hub (DMBH) and DRC services. Benchmark’s deal with MYTV will ensure uninterrupted signal delivery to millions of households that subscribe to MYTV’s myFreeview service. Benchmark will also be working with MYTV closely to enhance their value-added services and facilitate international content for Malaysia’s diverse ethnic populations through network regionalisation.
In Nepal, Benchmark Broadcast completed on-site installation on an exacting deadline for a world-class facility for the 24×7 channel designated for broadcast to the Sunsari province by Nepal Television (NTV), Nepal’s oldest and largest national broadcaster. Nepal TV’s successful channel launch on 31st January 2020 marked the broadcaster’s 35th anniversary and fulfilled a promise of on-time delivery to the Nepal Prime Minister. Benchmark Broadcast also has the contract for NTV’s SITC project.
Finally in another successful collaboration with UniqCast, Benchmark Broadcast delivered an IPTV/OTT platform in Papua New Guinea for Telikom PNG, South Pacific region’s most technologically advanced telecommunications company, that plans to expand their existing business of voice and data broadband services to include video services.
